Desert

What is a Desert

Deserts are very dry environments and they cover around 1/5 of the earth's surface. For it to be a desert, it has to receive less than 50 centimeters of rain per year. There are few large mammals and most large vertebrate animals that live in deserts are lizards. Most plants that live there are especially adapted in order to survive in extreme environments.
