Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloths are what people usually think of when they think of sloths. They are known for being cute and having an extremely slow metabolism. Their slow metabolism makes them really slow and will make it so that it takes weeks to digest food. Since they are slow algae grows on their fur making them look more like their environment. Sloths spend most of their lives in trees and will come down every week to defecate. Unfortunately having a slow metabolism makes them vulnerable to predators on the ground. They are hunted by jaguars, birds of prey, and humans. Humans will kill them for their meat.
