The Blue Wildebeest also known as the Common Wildebeest or the White Bearded Wildebeest are known for having an odd aparece compared to other animals. Its shaggy mane, large head, and sharp horns give it a wild appearance. Both males and females grow horns and they have bands on their silvery gray back. They live in grassy plains and open woodlands and live in Central, Southern, and eastern Africa. They are known to be found in the Serengeti in Tanzania and Kenya. These animals are members of the antelope family and will graze all day and all night. They are the main animals that participate in the Great Migration along with Zebras and other types of Gazelles. This Migration happens in May and June. They are known to be the best available prey for carnivores and are hunted by lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, and hyenas. Around 500,000 babies are born in February and March during the Wet season. Minutes after being born calves can start running. A full grown can run around 40 mph.
